If you have more than computer but only one printer, for example. It can be very annoying to burn a copy of the document onto some media such as a cdr to then transport that file to the computer with the printer before printing it. What happens if someone is using that computer? What happens if that computer does not have the necessary software installed? What happens if you noticed a mistake? All of this would result in time being wasted and arguments errupting.
Why not take advantage of the network? A home network allows users access to each others
computers and anything connected to them. Thus, allowing you to remotely print that
ever important document from upstairs whilst the printer may be downstairs.
Or you could check the ever important files on one computer whilst you work on another.
